BP is a storyteller, scholar, and sometimes photographer. He is a multi-award-winning theatre professional who holds degrees from Mary Baldwin, Kent State, East Carolina, and Concord.

His research interests include mid to late 19th century American theatre history focusing on performance, propaganda, invention, and audience interaction; Shakespearean adaptations; Costuming as story creation; and Theatrical theory.
